Want a well-paying job straight out of university? Become a pharmacist.

According to a new ranking from job search site Workopolis, pharmacist is the number-one job for recent grads in Canada.

With an average salary of nearly $85,000 for recent grads, pharmacists do better than nurses ($72,000) or accountants ($59,000), the survey found.

Workopolis looked at the most common entry-level/student jobs (which is a category that employers select at Workopolis), and found among those, the best job is account manager, with an average salary of more than $66,000.

That beats tech support workers ($50,000) and beauty advisors ($11 per hour). But the fact that jobs like "cashier" appear on this top 10 list doesn't inspire much confidence about the quality of work available to students.

Check out Workopolis’ rankings of best jobs for grads, and best entry-level/student jobs.

The ranking is based on data from the federal government’s Working In Canada site and from Workopolis’ database of job postings.
