Long hair, don't care!
That's apparently Madonna's new awesome motto which she took literally when she posted an Instagram selfie on Thursday that showed the pop queen show off her armpit hair.
Dressed in a lacy black bra and bow-tie, the "Music" singer smized for the camera while exposing the lengthy hair.
"Long hair...... Don't Care!!!!!! #artforfreedom #rebelheart #revolutionoflove," Madge captioned the pic.
What is Art for Freedom? It's actually a global initiative helmed by Madonna and VICE, which aims to encourage creative expression and bring awareness to human rights violations. (And here you thought it was just a hashtag Madonna made up.)
This isn't the only time Madge has refused to conform to the norm. In 2011, the fashion chameleon confessed to Harper's Bazaar that she was never one to fit in with the mainstream.
"[G]oing to high school, I saw how popular girls had to behave to get the boys. I knew I couldn't fit into that. So I decided to do the opposite," she said. "I refused to wear makeup, to have a hairstyle. I refused to shave. I had hairy armpits."
"The boys in my school would make fun of me. 'Hairy monster.' You know, things like that," she said, adding: "Straight men did not find me attractive. I think they were scared of me because I was different. I've always asked, 'Why? Why do I have to do that? Why do I have to look this way? Why do I have to dress this way? Why do I have to behave this way?'"
We think it's awesome that Madge doesn't care who sees her armpit hair. After all, it's a natural part of our body, so why not work it?
