We're all used to being shocked by Gwar's Dave Brockie, better known as the demonic alien creature Oderus Orungus, but it was a different kind of shock when the music world woke up to the news that Brockie was found dead in his home.

Only 50 years old, the Ottawa-born frontman for the legendary absurdist metal band, had been playing with Gwar since the band's founding in 1984. Needless to say, 30 years of over-the-tip theatrics have resulted in plenty of memorable moments on camera as well as onstage.

And so while we mourn Brockie, let's also celebrate his ability to do what he loved as weirdly as he did for as long as he did.

The collected videos range from classic '90s appearances on Joan Rivers and Jerry Springer to his recent reading of bedtime book "Goodnight, Moon," playing Xbox Kinect's "Dance Central" and going Trick or Treating to last year's tour bit in which they murders a faux Justin Bieber.

Then there was Oderus' regular guest gig on Fox News show Red Eye, where he was their "intergalactic correspondent."

Let's not forget Gwar's music, of course. There's some hilarious covers of Kansas' "Carry On, Wayward Son," "Billy Ocean's "Get Into My Car" and Alice Cooper's "Schools Out" as well as their Grammy-nominated longform video "Phallus in Wonderland" and music videos for "Let Us Slay," "Sick of You," "Gor Gor," "Penguin Attack," and "Saddam A Go-Go."

Oh, and because Brockie was Canadian, let us not forget Oderus' epic meeting with Narduar.

R.I.P.
