When a storm hits, what's the first thing you pick up at the grocery store?
If you ask Maritimers, "#Stormchips" are a priority item on many residents' shopping lists.
#Stormchips first emerged as a hashtag in January, when Atlantic Canada was hit with a blizzard.
At the time, Stephanie Domet, host of Mainstreet on CBC Radio One, mused to a newsreader that ripple chips and dip were the only items on her list as the snow set in, CBC News reported.
The newsreader admitted he had a similar list, and so a hashtag was born that quickly spread across the eastern provinces.
The hashtag returned amid a Wednesday storm that has been compared to "White Juan," the powerful weather event that dumped a record amount of snow over Halifax in 2004.
#Stormchips proved difficult to find in some stores.
And many others were all too happy to get their hands on them.

This being one of the worst storms that the Maritimes have seen in a decade, now's probably a good time to let your diet take a back seat to savoury, crunchy goodness.
