New gas plant allegations involve Dalton McGuinty aide

Former Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty's ex chief of staff is accused of giving a third party access to computers in the premier's office, which resulted in sensitive information about the cancellation of gas plants being removed from hard drives.

The allegations are contained in an information to obtain (ITO) document the Ontario Provincial Police filed in court to request a search warrant for a storage facility in Mississauga, where the Ontario government hard drives were being stored.

David Livingston is a longtime Liberal beauracrat, and the former president and CEO of Infrastructure Ontario. He joined McGuinty's office in the spring of 2012.

After being asked about the breach of trust allegations against Livingston during an exchange in question period at Queen's Park Thursday, Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne said she will co-operate with any investigation.

Lisa MacLeod, the PC MPP for Neapean-Carleton, raised the issue on the floor of the legislature and quoted from the ITO.

None of the accusations against Livingston have been proven in court.
