Ontario Tories say Liberal budget coming May 1

Ontario's Progressive Conservatives claim they have internal documents that show the governing Liberals have set a date of May 1 to announce the province's budget.

The PCs also claim to have documents outlining a series of funding announcements the Liberals plan to make leading up to the budget's release.

The Tories say the Liberals are planning a series of more than 35 funding announcements that will add up to about $5.7 billion in new spending.

PC leader Tim Hudak is holding a news conference at Queen's Park this hour to provide more details.
