Maple Leafs' Joffrey Lupul scratched vs. Bruins with lower-body injury

TORONTO - Joffrey Lupul was a late scratch for the Toronto Maple Leafs in another must-win game, this time against the Boston Bruins.

Lupul is out with a lower-body injury, according to the team.

He did not take part in pre-game warm-ups, and line rushes included David Clarkson and Jerry D'Amigo sliding around to fill the hole. Lupul did participate in the morning skate at Air Canada Centre and was the first player to leave the ice.

It was well-known that right-winger Phil Kessel was dealing with a bruised right foot, but Lupul sitting out came as a surprise.

The 30-year-old has 22 goals and 22 assists this season.
