Mounties arrest and charge man in murder of a Kelowna, B.C., woman

KELOWNA, B.C. - A murder charge has been laid against a Kelowna, B.C., man in connection to the death of a woman in the city on Tuesday.

Police found the body of 35-year-old Amy Jane Parkes in her Kelowna home on April 1 after she failed to show up at her workplace.

Mounties immediately started a homicide investigation and identified Ryan Quigley as a person of interest.

Police issued an alert looking for Quigley and asked the public to look for his vehicle.

Quigley was arrested Thursday by an undercover police officer and has been charged with second-degree murder.

He remains in custody and was due to appear in court on the charge Friday.
