Alberta chair thrower who hit woman instead of guy he fought gets jail

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - A man charged in a chair-throwing brawl at a mall in southern Alberta has been sentenced to four months in jail.

Grant Tyler Williams, who is 29, got into a fight with 22-year-old Carson Small Eyes in the food court of Park Place Shopping Centre about two weeks ago.

They exchanged blows and Small Eyes threw a chair at Williams.

Williams threw a chair back, but missed Small Eyes and instead hit a 60-year-old woman.

She suffered two cuts to her head that required nine stitches to close.

Last week Small Eyes was sentenced to 60 days in jail.

Williams is also prohibited from owning or possessing any weapons for the next ten years.
