Brampton church fire: parishioners vow to rebuild

Parishioners of a Ukrainian church in Brampton say they are stronger and will rebuild after a fire destroyed their church on Saturday.

Father Roman Galadza says that when the St. Elias the Prophet Parish church in Brampton burned down, it was like experiencing a death in the family.

The website for the Orthodox church is soliciting donations for the rebuilding fund.

Sunday religious services were moved to a nearby school. No one was injured in the blaze.

The Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper tweeted his regret about the fire, calling it awful news.
