Politicians of all stripes have lined up to praise the late Jim Flaherty, calling him, among other things, one of the best finance ministers in Canadian history, and a leading global figure during the Great Recession of 2008-2009.
But the other thing people have been saying was that Flaherty, regardless of his politics, was just a nice guy.
