Minimum wage in Prince Edward Island going up to $10.35 per hour in October

CHARLOTTETOWN - People earning minimum wage in Prince Edward Island will see raises in June and October.

The provincial government has announced that the minimum wage will go up to $10.20 per hour as of June 1 and rise again to $10.35 as of Oct. 1.

The hourly minimum wage has been $10 since April 1, 2012.

The new rates were approved by the provincial cabinet based on an annual review.

Labour Minister Janice Sherry says the rate increases take into account the interests of both employers and employees.
