Canucks Fan Jumps Ship, Bows Down To Bruins (VIDEO)

WATCH: Canucks Fan Jumps Ship

Nearly a month after a Bruins-crazed Vancouverite posted a Kijiji ad teasing Vancouver Canucks fans to jump ship for the Boston team, one bandwagoner has taken up the offer.

Rocky Mix called for Canucks fans to pledge their allegiance to the rival Bruins on YouTube. The submission with the most views would win a Jarome Iginla jersey and a Centre Ice subscription for the Bruins’ 2014/15 season.

David Hutchinson, a Vancouver-based realtor, posted a YouTube video officially announcing his broken loyalty on Tuesday. His public declaration comes nine days after the Canucks were eliminated from NHL playoff contention.

Hutchinson says the video was all for fun and hopes fans will take it as more of a pick-me-up.

“I was kinda getting fed up with the Vancouver Canucks so I thought I’d just put something together as a joke," he says. "I wanted a bit of humour to it because people can get pretty serious about hockey. I didn't want anyone stalking me down or anything.”

Hutchinson hopes he won’t run into any Canucks anytime soon.

“I actually saw Bieksa having a cup of coffee in Yaletown yesterday," he says. "So I kind of hope he doesn't watch it.”

For what it's worth, only Hutchison entered Mix's contest.

The Bruins are currently first in the league as President’s Trophy champions while the Canucks have the sixth draft pick in the upcoming 2014/15 season.

The two teams met in the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, with the Bruins beating the Canucks in Game 7.
