Roxton Road tenants left homeless since wall collapse

Tenants of a semi-detached home on Roxton Road are still waiting to learn when they can return home, following the partial collapse of the adjacent unit.

Last Wednesday evening, the people living in the home near College Street and Ossington Avenue had to be evacuated.

The collapse occurred amid ongoing renovation efforts at the adjacent unit. The two homes share a central wall.

Jenna Oldham said that everything she owns remains in the home.

"None of this has been our fault and we are the ones that have no place to live," she said.

Oldham told CBC News that she and five other tenants are out hundreds of dollars they have spent on clothing, toiletries and food. They are hoping the damage doesn’t worsen.

"The longer that this takes for decisions to be made, the house is left in a situation where it's under stress," she said.

There is no official cause of the collapse as of yet.
