B.C. RCMP are appalled at the driver of a Ferrari who they stopped for speeding 101 km/h over the posted 80 km/h limit.
"Despite the driver's extremely excessive speed, the real surprise for officers was when they saw a young child in the vehicle with the man," said RCMP Cpl. Robert McDonald in a press release. "I don't know how someone could put a child at risk like that."
The 49-year-old man from Langley, who was behind the wheel of the 2005 Ferrari F430, was pulled over by traffic officers earlier this month in Surrey.
McDonald said the driver admitted he was aware the intersection was where five family members died last year. Their car was hit by a minivan that allegedly ran the red light.
The Ferrari driver was ticketed for excessive speed, which carries a fine of $483, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
