This is northern Canada's version of a no-win situation.
Groups of caribou were spotted floating on ice floes amid a spring break-up on the Porcupine River in Old Crow, Yukon, in a video that was posted to Facebook Wednesday night, CBC News reported.
"We've seen some run off the ice and we've seen another bunch of caribou jump off the ice and run up the bank," Dayna Lord, who shot the video, told the network.

"Yeah a lot of people feel bad, but it's just something that happens every year."
This doesn't mark the first time that caribou have been filmed while caught adrift in cold northern waters.
YouTube user "Climiest" posted a similar video on May 25, 2013.
