Horwath made a campaign stop Friday at a Windsor metalworking plant churning out auto parts and shopping carts to underline what she says is the need to strengthen Ontario industry and create good jobs.
She says her proposal would create "tens of thousands" of jobs by offering businesses a 10 per cent tax credit on machine and equipment spending to the tune of $500 million over two years, with no per-company cap.
It's the second time in as many days Horwath has repeated an existing party policy — this one dating back several years — but she says the ideas are still new because they haven't been done in Ontario.
Horwath promised the NDP would be "thoughtfully and methodically" releasing its platform throughout the campaign, and that it will include action on child care.
Her itinerary for Friday has her stopping in Woodstock before speaking to a convention of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union in Toronto.
