Marathon hockey players beat own world record for longest game

A group of hockey players in Chestermere has unofficially beaten its own record for the longest game ever.

The 40 players with Hockey Marathon for the Kids managed to make the game last for 248 hours and two minutes — beating their Guinness World Record game in 2012 that went on for 246 hours.

This year’s game started at noon on May 4 at the Chestermere Recreation Centre.

The players raised more than $2 million for the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation.
