We all know there are many potential ingredients in processed foods, but there have always been some that were generally considered healthy — things like yogurt, or peanut butter. As it turns out, your healthy snacks may be lying to you.
As shown in the video above, Dr. Ken Fujioka, who specializes in weight management, points to quite a few everyday foods people eat to maintain a healthy weight that are, in fact, almost as bad as junk food.
"When you take things like fruit, and grind them up and concentrate them, you actually are making a high fructose syrup," he explains.
What's the solution? Make your snacks at home instead of buying them pre-made, say the experts — you can use whole ingredients and ensure you know what's going into your food.
