One thing's for sure: the 2014 Billboard Music Awards red carpet isn't the Met Gala.

Although the annual award show comes just a few weeks after the fashion extravaganza, the two events couldn't be more different, except for one thing: the dramatic style.

At this year's Billboard festivities, which took place on Sunday, May 18 in Las Vegas, we saw Jennifer Lopez wear a slinky red number, Lorde in black Lanvin and Shania Twain in body-hugging black knit gown.
