No one answers door, but police get warrant and take back TV

Barrie police allege that a man and woman took a big-screen TV from a local Sears store, drove away and then didn't answer the door when officers came looking for it.

Police say they got a call at 5 p.m. Saturday from loss-prevention staff regarding a pair of individuals who allegedly stole a TV, put it in their vehicle and left.

The staff gave police a description of the vehicle and its licence plate.

When police found that vehicle at an address on Cundles Road East, they were told that the man and woman had just been spotted carrying a large cardboard box into the residence.

The man and woman did not answer the door.

But police obtained a warrant. They say they found the TV inside.

A 32-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were arrested and charged with theft under and possession under.
