28 Reasons Hockey Will Always Belong To Canada

Canada's last team in the Stanley Cup Playoffs has been eliminated and a new book claims the game wasn't even invented in here -- that Charles Darwin and the English were at it long before us.

These are strange days. But don't lament, because no matter what may come, hockey belongs to Canada. And that is forever. Here's some proof.

This happens in the Tim's parking lot

This was the busiest highway in Canada during the men's gold medal game

He wears that and we still watch

We'd be happy to elect this inanimate post Prime Minister

We start young

Sidney Crosby

And then we give the players lots of support

Just look what Crosby's parents let him do to the dryer

Because basements are for practice, not laundry

And mornings are for practice, not sleep

We're so good at hockey Americans feel like this when we beat them

That's why they steal so many of our best players

Luckily, there is this thing called the Olympics

This is Canada beating the U.S. 6-1 to win gold at the first ever Winter Games

Not much has changed

Well, this has changed (for the better)

'Nuff said

And as for the English and this Darwin business

The British men's hockey team hasn't qualified for the Olympics since 1948

Heck, they haven't even won at the sport they're good at since 1966

Meanwhile, in Canada, you can bank on our commitment to the game

We're serious about that

Even when we're short on resources

And even though the Cup won't go to Canada this year

It just doesn't matter. Because no matter what anyone says:
