Eugenie Bouchard Heads To Semifinals In French Open

Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard has defeated Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro to go on to the semifinals of the French Open. The match scores were 7-6 (4), 2-6, 7-5.

Bouchard will face Maria Sharapova, who is ranked eighth in women's singles. Bouchard is ranked 16th, but has proved a surprising competitor on the courts in Paris.

This is the first time in history a Canadian woman has reached the semifinals of the French Open. Bouchard previously made the semifinals of the Australian Open in January, but lost to China's Li Na.

Canadian men's singles player Milos Raonic is currently playing his quarter-final match against Serbia's Novak Djokovic.
