Lupita Nyong'o Pulls Off An Unusual Look At The 2014 CFDA Awards

Lupita Nyong'o Pulls Off An Unusual Outfit

It takes a true fashion risk-taker to wear what Lupita Nyong'o sported on the red carpet on Monday and pull it off.

The Oscar-winner almost stole the show from Rihanna (an impossible feat, to be sure) at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards wearing a multi-coloured striped Suno ensemble that featured a crop top with a plunging neckline and cropped trousers.

“Suno is a designer that supported me before the '12 Years a Slave' breakout insanity, and so I wanted to say thank you,” Nyong’o told Vanity Fair during the ceremony.

Her makeup was bold as well, with vivid blue eyeshadow paired with a neutral glossy lip. Red pumps, gold earrings and a quirky bouffant completed the look.

Although the 31-year-old face of Lancome and Miu Miu didn't win an award, she still had a lot of reasons to celebrate, namely the recent announcement that she's been cast in the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII" movie.

After stunning us with unique and fashion-forward looks these past few months, it's safe to say that Lupita should probably win the Fashion Icon Award next year!
