Woman charged after DVP crash sends 1 man to hospital

A 36-year-old woman faces multiple charges after a crash on the Don Valley Parkway Wednesday night that sent a man to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The woman, Georgia Psyrris of Markham, Ont., was allegedly driving southbound at a high rate of speed and making erratic lane changes on the Don Valley Parkway near Don Mills Road, according to Toronto police.

At around 7:43 p.m., she is alleged to have made a lane change from the passing lane to the centre lane, and crashed into a van.

The driver of the van lost control of his vehicle, leaving the roadway and rolling over.

The passenger of the van, a 49-year-old man, suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The woman was arrested on the scene.

She is charged with:

- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm

- Criminal negligence causing bodily harm

- Driving while under suspension

She was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
