Angus Tornado Damages Homes, As Storms Hit Ontario (TWEETS)

Ontario Tornado Rips Walls From Homes

A tornado in Angus, Ont. may have damaged as many as 30 homes as severe weather rolled across the province's southern regions on Tuesday.

Officials could not confirm that a tornado was the culprit, but Environment Canada spokesman Peter Kimbell told the network that it was "very likely", CP24 reported.

An official with Essa Township's fire department told CityNews it received calls about injuries in numerous locations.

YouTube users posted numerous videos of the storm as it ripped through the area.

Global News' Leslie Roberts posted a video to Instagram, captioned "Tornado moves through Angus On. Shot by brash photo grafix."

Photos shared on Twitter showed what looked very much like a twister in the community.

Other photos showed the extent of damage to homes in Angus.
