Tancook ferry out of service because of broken propeller: Nova Scotia government

HALIFAX - The Nova Scotia government says one of its ferries is out of service until further notice because of a cracked propeller.

The Transportation Department says work is underway to repair the Tancook Island ferry.

It's unknown how long the repairs will take.

The department says it's trying to secure a backup ferry in the meantime.

The ferry runs daily between Chester and Tancook Island.

It is one of seven ferries operated by the provincial government.
