Mai Cashion's body found in Fredericton park: mother

The mother of Mai Cashion, a 39-year-old woman missing since Tuesday, says her daughter's body has been found in Fredericton's Odell Park during a search Saturday.

The Fredericton police forensic unit and New Brunswick's coroner were called to an area of the park that was taped off by officers.

Marie Cashion, the mother of Mai Cashion, tells CBC News that searchers found her daughter's body.

Cashion was last seen Tuesday in the Smythe Street area, near the 400-acre park.

Police issued a plea Friday for the public's help finding the woman.

Officers and a York Sunbury ground search and rescue team began combing through the park Saturday morning.
