City Of Calgary Inside Workers Ratify Deal

CALGARY - A union representing inside workers with the City of Calgary has ratified a new four-year deal.

It would see members get a pay raise of 12.5 per cent over the life of the contract.

Peter Marsden of the Canadian Union of Public Employees says the vote took place Monday afternoon.

Marsden says the deal will bring his members up to the provincial average for the public sector.

He adds that his members are critical to what makes the city tick and hopes they can now go back to concentrating on doing their jobs and enjoy the summer.
