Juicy J @ YD Square
"Ooh, titties," said Juicy J as a young, front-row audience member of his free Yonge-Dundas Square show pulled her shirt down revealing her bra and more than a little cleavage. That was basically the tone of the closing night performance for NXNE. That, laced with weed smoke and Hennessy.
"Anyone want to get on stage and drink Hennessy with Juicy J?" asked Juicy J; everyone screamed. He played the expected tunes to get the crowd going, like "Smokin' Rollin'" and "Having Sex" ("If you believe in having sex, say hell yeah") but the gold-chain-wearing fun didn't stop there.
Then came the hit machines "Bandz A Make Her Dance" (which, all the while that song was playing, I couldn't stop picturing Stephanie Tanner), and the Mike WiLL Made It hit "23," originally also featuring Miley at her twerkiest and Wiz Khalifa.
After such a long career ("I been doing this for 20 years") Juicy J had a lot of material to work with, and he showed Toronto love for coming out and supporting him.
"I love Toronto. I been thinking about getting a condo downtown," said Juicy J. I'm sure developers will be happy to hear it.

Run the Jewels @ YD Square
The joint project between Killer Mike and El-P never fails to amaze, and Run the Jewels always comes to Toronto bearing gratitude for the fans. "You motherfuckers are an absolutely wonderful city," said Killer Mike. Toronto loves this.
The duo put out their album in 2013, so by now the songs are familiar -- from "36" Chain," to "Sea Legs," to "A Christmas Fucking Miracle," the crowd knew when to call back. DJ Trackstar had everyone dancing from start to finish.
The interaction between El-P and Killer Mike is always the best part of any RTJ show. They play off of each other, dance, joke around. Their relationship is like an adorable, hard-rapping bromance. I just want to put a picture of them in my Grade 8 locker and stare at it all the time.
The question clearly on the minds of many fans, though, was "when is the next album coming out?" El-P preempted the inquiry: "You will not have to wait much longer for Run the Jewels 2," he said. Exciting news for Jewel Runners (a fan name I just made up), I got immediate and constant RTs once I put that quote out on Twitter.
The people have spoken, and they want more Run the Jewels.
