The hand-scribbled lyrics to Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" just sold for $2 million, a world record for a popular music manuscript and the "the only known surviving draft of the final lyrics for this transformative rock anthem."

It trounced the previous record holder, John Lennon, whose lyrics for "A Day in the Life" sold for $1.2 million, but it's hardly the gold standard for such music auctions. Lennon himself got more for his Rolls-Royce, and a statue of Michael Jackson with his monkey Bubbles got even more than that.

Meanwhile, a Stradivarius viola is being auctioned right now with an unbelievable starting bid of $45 million.
