The “beautiful game” sure has its share of cringe-worthy moments.

A “venomous” shot from a teammate appeared to have snapped Nigerian player Michel Babatunde's arm in two during a match against Argentina on Wednesday.

Here’s the gruesome moment when Ogenyi Onazi’s shot on goal hit Babatunde’s arm instead:

WARNING: The following clip is very graphic.

The midfielder was carried off the field on a stretcher after the ball hit his wrist, swinging his arm up and around him. Youch.

Babatunde is undergoing surgery. It remains uncertain if his injury will prevent him from returning to play in the tournament.

“We will see how it goes, but it’s not good,” team coach Stephen Kenshi told the Associated Press.

Argentina went on to beat Nigeria, 3-2. But, despite the loss, Babatunde’s team still advance to the round of 16.
