Visits suspended at Moncton hospital after norovirus found in patients, staff

MONCTON, N.B. - Visits are temporarily suspended in three units at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital in Moncton, N.B.

The hospital says cases of norovirus have been confirmed in both patients and employees.

The facility says visitors are being asked to stay away from the general medicine, geriatrics and rehabilitation units to avoid spreading the gastrointestinal illness.

As a precaution, visitors to other areas of the hospital are asked to keep their hands washed and avoid visiting patients if they feel unwell.

Symptoms of norovirus can include nausea and vomiting.
