YouTuber Proves Beauty Is More Than Skin-Deep With Stunning Time-Lapse Video

YouTuber Proves Beauty Is More Than Just Physical With Stunning Video

YouTuber Rebecca Brown was diagnosed with Trichotillomania when she was 12. Trichotillomania is an impulse control disorder, similar to OCD, which causes the compulsive need to pull out hair.

As a result, the disorder leaves Rebecca, now 21, with bald patches and thinning hair, so in order to cope, she began a project called, “She Takes A Photo.”

For the past six-and-a-half years, Rebecca has taken a photograph of herself every day and compiled them in a time-lapse video. The montage is both stunning and mesmerizing as Rebecca’s changes, both physical and emotional, can be seen.

In the description, Rebecca explains that her smile fades when depression hits, but that’s okay. “I'd rather look back and see a project filled with honesty, than seeing 2000 photos of fake smiles,” she says.

While every day is a struggle for this young woman, she is happy to note that the severity of her disorder is not as bad as it used to be. And with that, Rebecca leaves her viewers with a very important message.

Beauty is more than what we see with the eyes,” she writes. “People are more than their conditions. I am more than my hair and skin. This only shows my exterior, I hope that people will check out my videos to see more of the girl inside.”
