12 kg of 'suspected cocaine' seized at Pearson airport

Twelve kilograms of "suspected cocaine" were found in a bag unloaded from a plane at Pearson International Airport this past weekend.

The Canada Border Services Agency says that its officers "monitored" the baggage coming off a flight that had come in from the Dominican Republic on Sunday.

After spotting "anomalies" with one of the bags, officers looked inside and found 10 bricks of a substance that field-tested positive for cocaine.

The suspected drugs have been handed over to Peel Regional Police. The investigation continues.
