Amber Alert cancelled after Ottawa toddler found safe

Ottawa police say an Amber Alert has been cancelled after a two-year-old child was found safe about three hours after he was allegedly abducted.

The alleged abduction happened at about noon ET on Thursday, police said.

An Amber Alert was issued around 2:40 p.m. ET and cancelled less than half an hour later.

Ottawa police say the alleged male abductor is in custody and charges are pending.

Sources told CBC News the police guns and gangs and major crimes units had been involved in the investigation.
