Baby found locked in car in Rockland Centre parking lot

Montreal police are investigating after a baby was found locked in a car in the parking lot of the Rockland Centre in the Town of Mount Royal.

A police officer broke the vehicle's window to get the child out.

Witnesses said the baby, who was probably about eight months old, was sweaty and crying.

Police said it took about 10 minutes to find the baby's mother, who was inside a store.

It's unclear for how long the child had been left.

Police have not said whether the mother will face charges.

The child was taken to hospital to be examined.
