Canadian Pop Star Kiesza Makes Big Splash On Letterman, Literally

Canadian pop sensation Kiesza made a huge splash last night with her performance of "Hideaway" last night on "The Late Show With David Letterman."

As shown in this YouTube clip from Thursday's show, Kiesza begins the song on a bench in the usual floor space Letterman allots for musical guests. From there backup dancers begin to emerge, including one answering a payphone. In all six backup dancers appear with Kiesza and company doing some choreography.

However the fun really kicks in about two-and-a-half-minutes in as Kiesza walks into the audience and up the aisle with a camera following her. After making it to the sidewalk outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre, Kiesza and three dancers continue the song outside the Hello Deli, a store Letterman has made famous over the years thanks to interviews with the owner Rupert Jee.

Kiesza then dances under sprays of water from a slightly opened fire hydrant before bouncing back down the sidewalk, through a side door and back on stage again and closing the song.

"Wow! Nice job!" Letterman says before congratulating Kiesza on the performance. "That was great! You're soaking wet for heaven's sake! How about that Paul?"

"That was the greatest!" band leader Paul Shaffer says.
