The motion, which will likely be voted on later this week, comes amid an ongoing fight with the Progressive Conservatives that is delaying the creation of legislative committees.
However, all the arguing between the ruling Liberals and opposition parties won't matter when it's time for the final budget vote. With a majority government, Premier Kathleen Wynne's Liberals will pass the budget.
Interim PC Leader Jim Wilson pushed for Wynne to be specific about the kind of austerity measures that will have to be taken in order to keep the province from sinking deeper into debt.
"Which Ontarians are you going to hit the hardest with tax increases?" he asked Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile NDP Leader Andrea Horwath accused Wynne of hiding plans for public sector layoffs.
