What To Wear When You Go Glamping This Summer (PHOTOS)

I confess: I’m too prissy to go camping.

The idea of sleeping in a tent makes me want to bolt to the nearest anywhere that has fully functioning facilities. I’m not a huge fan of muddy terrain or cooking largemouth bass over a campfire; I’d struggle over the hypothetical decision of camping versus having a lobotomy. My sincerest respect goes to those who can hack it.

“Glamping” a.k.a. glamour camping, on the other hand, perks my ears. It’s camping for us wusses. If you haven’t heard, glamping is a compromise between roughing it at Algonquin Park and checking in at hotel. Basically, it's camping in comfort (and in style) and that’s something I can get behind.

The new trend, which Bear Grylls would probably chuckle heartily at, requires a great wardrobe to go along with your fancy campsite. Just like you wouldn’t show up to a boutique hotel in New York City in an old Adidas tracksuit, you wouldn't show up to your glampsite in anything less than your comfiest pair of Rag & Bone pants.

If you’re contemplating a glamping trip, we have your best interests at heart with our glam camp style guide.

Stylish Glamping Outfits

Even in the summer, evenings can get cool. James Perse has the perfect cozy fleece sweatshirt to keep you warm if your glamp-worthy goose down comforter isn't doing the trick.

They may look like jeans but these Rag & Bone pants are actually a pair of cozy 100 per cent terry sweatpants in disguise. The distressed denim look is digitally printed on with an elastic waistband for added camping comfort.

Glamp in a pair of airy linen blend shorts that will keep you cool while you embrace Mother Nature. The drawstring makes them easy to slip on after a dip in the lake.

You’ll feel like a real outdoorsman (woman?) in this sporty pullover anorak by Opening Ceremony. Unlike your typical camping outerwear, this jacket is expertly tailored with ornate detailing.

Stylish cross trainers are a must have for those beautiful morning hikes. We love Nike’s playful use of colours while keeping practicality and the wearer’s comfort top of mind.

A vest is always a great option when the weather gets chilly. This elegant quilted vest is durable, practical and stylish, perfect for a glamping adventure.

A dip in a crystal clear lake is kind of what you came here for right? That means you’ll need a great bikini, like this nautical two-piece by Joe Fresh.

We’re warning you right now. If you plan to go portaging, we don’t recommend bringing these along. If your glamping activities only include lounging around, these slouchy cream cashmere pants will feel like pure bliss against your skin.

Obviously you’ll need a pair of cozy slippers for wearing inside your extra-large tent. These sheep skin lined moccasins will do just the trick, keeping your toes warm and cozy.

In case nature gets a little nasty (and mucky), you’ll need a pair of wellies to combat the elements. These Hunter riding boot-style wellies offer style, sophistication and practicality.
