WATCH: Canada's Marketers Need To Take More Risks

Canada is a world leader in the social and digital space, says Mosaic's Julie Sheldon. However for Canadian marketing companies won't truly take their rightful place at the top, they have to break free of their legal departments.

"Often we create a great piece of content that then we can't release for 10 days because legal is reviewing it," said Sheldon, director of digital and social for Mosaic. "By the time legal has reviewed it, it is irrelevant because social moves so quickly. You have to work in as close to real time as possible."

Sheldon wants to see more real time marketing, but that means taking more risks, like those being taken in the United States.
