Maple Ridge stabbing victim, 45, dies in hospital

A 45-year-old man died in hospital in New Westminster after being stabbed early this morning in Maple Ridge, B.C.

Ridge Meadows RCMP spokesman Const. Mike Moore said police found the victim in the area of Dewdney Trunk Road and 223 Street shortly after midnight.

The man was taken by ambulance to Royal Columbian Hospital, but died from his injuries.

Air and police dog support were used in a subsequent search of the area.

Moore said the Lower Mainland's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case.
