Robert Gaudette is back in police custody after escaping last Tuesday from a federal detention centre in Laval.

Gaudette, 55, was caught Sunday night in Quebec City after being recognized on the street.

He did not resist arrest.

He should appear in a Quebec City court today.

Gaudette was convicted in 2002 of killing his wife, Cindy Bouchard.

He was sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole before 12 years.

On Thursday, Claude Hamelin of Rigaud was arrested in connection with Gaudette’s escape.

It’s believed Gaudette escaped through a window at the minimum security Montée Saint-François de Laval institution.
