The 26-year-old victim of an early morning hit and run in Vancouver has been identified on social media as popular publicistOvey Yeung.

The business and communications consultant was hit outside BC Place shortly after 4 a.m. on Monday by a eastbound car on Pacific Boulevard near Abbott Street, according to a Vancouver police news release. The driver did not remain on the scene. Police say the car is a dark Honda Civic, likely with front end damage.

Yeung suffered severe head injuries and is now in critical condition, said police.

Loved ones and supporters took to Twitter to show their support for Yeung, even creating the hashtag #WeLoveOvey. An Indiegogo campaign has also been set up to help Yeung's family with her expenses.

Yeung's sister, Clara, thanked everyone through Facebook for their support but asked them to refrain from visiting Ovey in hospital until her condition improves, according to CKNW.

There is no update on Yeung's condition, reports The Vancouver Sun. Police are still searching for the suspect.
