Back for a second year, the magazine's People's Choice Award invites Canadians to help advance the country's culinary identity. The 30 restaurants in the running have been nominated by a volunteer panel of food and hospitality industry leaders who believe their choices have made a significant impact on our restaurant culture.
The establishments all opened between late spring 2013 and June 2014, and have also been visited and judged anonymously by international food and wine writer Andrew Braithwaite. He'll narrow the list to his top 10 for the November issue of enRoute magazine.
The nominees are:
— Vancouver: Ask for Luigi, The Blacktail Florist, Cinara, Farmer's Apprentice
— Victoria: Little Jumbo
— Surrey, B.C.: My Shanti
— Tofino, B.C.: Wolf in the Fog
— Calgary: Black Pig Bistro
— Edmonton: North 53, RGE RD, Woodwork
— Saskatoon: Ayden Kitchen & Bar
— Toronto: Agave y Aguacate, Bar Buca, Byblos, The Chase, Fat Pasha, Luckee, Rhum Corner
