Colin Hanks Gives Calgary Winters The Cold Shoulder

'Fargo' Star Gives Calgary Winters The Cold Shoulder

Colin Hanks definitely wasn't impressed by Calgary's winters. But who can blame him, really?

The actor, who spent last winter in Alberta filming the TV series "Fargo," told the Hollywood Reporter Calgary's weather is "demoralizing."

Explaining that the crew had to sometimes wrap cameras in electric blankets to keep them operational, the 36-year-old called the cold "pretty tiring, pretty exhausting."

"You find ways to get through it."

It wasn't the first time Hanks has sounded off about the nasty weather.

Earlier this year he called Calgary's climate "frustrating."

"You want to be able to be out there on set and sort of be able to focus on the work but there were some nights where you were just focused on how cold you were," he explained to HuffPost Live.

"The snow and the cold is part of the 'Fargo' universe. We had to have it...and we had plenty of it, that's for sure."

And he's right — last winter was one of the coldest in recent decades, with snowfall records set in Calgary.

Fellow "Fargo" star Bob Odenkirk was also taken aback by the frosty temperatures that the city couldn't seem to shake.

In April, he told the Calgary Sun the weather "is a shock — you're reminded people choose to live in these places. How come everyone in the world doesn't live in L.A.?"
