Saskatchewan doctor to be disciplined for sending threatening text to colleague

YORKTON, Sask. - A physician from Yorkton, Sask., will be disciplined after being found guilty of unprofessional and discreditable conduct for several text messages sent to another doctor.

In late July, Dr. Cornelius Spies was charged and found guilty by the executive committee of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.

According to the charges listed on the college's website, Spies allegedly suggested in one text message that the other physician was having an extra-marital affair and warned him to "watch your back."

Spies was also alleged to have warned the other doctor to leave town.

The college's decision on how Spies will be disciplined will be made public at a later date.
