Nine seniors, social housing properties in Nova Scotia get $5-million upgrade

HALIFAX - Nine seniors and social housing properties across Nova Scotia are getting $5 million in renovations under a housing agreement between Ottawa and the province.

Upgrades include work on plumbing, windows, elevators, bathrooms and sprinklers.

The province estimates about 1,000 seniors will be affected.

The funding comes through the Canada-Nova Scotia Social Housing Agreement, which the province signed with the federal government in 1997.
