Bruce Ridout, 61, ID'd as White Rock homicide victim

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified the victim of Sunday's homicide in White Rock.

Bruce Alexander Ridout, 61, was found dead in his home in the 900-block Ash Street Sunday night.

RCMP officers responding to multiple 911 calls also found two injured women in the house. They were treated in hospital and released.

Police said a suspect was seen throwing knives and dishes from the home's balcony before running away. White Rock RCMP tracked him and took him into custody a short time later.

IHIT spokeswoman Jennifer Pound said there were four people in the home at the time of the incident, and that the victim may have died while trying to break up a fight.

Jeffrey Caille, 22, has been charged with one count each of second degree murder and assault causing bodily harm, and two counts of assault.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Provincial Court in Surrey Tuesday afternoon.

An autopsy to determine Ridout's cause of death has also been scheduled to take place Tuesday.
