Police seek Corey Galea, 21, in Yonge-Dundas Square stabbing

Toronto police have released the name and photograph of a man wanted in connection with a stabbing early Wednesday at Yonge-Dundas Square that sent a 33-year-old man to hospital

Police say they are looking for Cory Galea, 21, of no fixed address, after a stabbing that sent a 33-year-old man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Galea is described as white, five foot ten inches tall, 170 pounds with dark hair and green eyes.

He is known to frequent the Yonge Street and Gerrard Street area, the area around Yonge and Dundas Street and Seaton House Shelter.

Police are asking anyone who sees Galea to call 911. They say he should be treated as armed and dangerous.

The stabbing happened at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. Police allege that a man who was texting on his cell phone accidentally bumped into Galea and another man who is already under arrest and facing an attempted murder charge.

A fight ensued and the victim was stabbed in the heart with a knife. He was taken to hospital in critical condition.
